Description:
The Department of Botany is engaged in imparting knowledge of Plant science to the students enrolled in B.Sc. (Hons.) course and also to the ones opting for the subject as their elective/generic. With the contribution of dedicated and academically qualified faculty members, the department thrives to disseminate the fundamentals along with the nuanced concepts of plant sciences.
The faculty, who are ever approachable and sincere strive to make the students familiar with the subject using various student friendly techniques such as using charts, herbarium specimens and ICT along with engaging them in discussions. Mentors are also assigned to the students to provide them with one-to-one learning experience and guidance.
The department of Botany is well equipped with updated and modern laboratory equipment like Spectrophotometer, incubator, autoclave, centrifuge etc. The campus also has a Botanical Garden with plants of numerous species to impart practical knowledge in addition to the theoretical concepts they are acquainted with, the department also consists of an intradepartmental library which contributes to their learning.
